NSI Vacancy 2026: The National Sugar Institute (NSI) in Kanpur has officially released its recruitment notification for 2026. This recruitment drive invites applications from qualified and interested candidates for direct recruitment to various technical positions.

What are the eligibility criteria for applying?
For the position of Research Assistant (Engineering), a candidate must have a diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering from a recognized institute.
For the position of Draftsman, a candidate must have passed 12th standard and a diploma in mechanical engineering; Candidates with AutoCAD training will be given preference.
For the position of Fine Mechanic, candidates must have passed 12th grade with a science subject and a two-year trade certificate in the Instrument Mechanic trade.
For the position of Welder, candidates must have passed 10th grade and possess a recognized certificate in the Welding trade.
Age Limit Requirements
The age limit for candidates is determined by the position as of the last date for submission of applications. The age limit for the position of Draftsman must be between 18 and 27 years. For the positions of Research Assistant, Skilled Mechanic, and Welder, the age limit is between 18 and 25 years.
Additionally, age relaxation will be provided. General departmental candidates will be given a maximum age relaxation of 40 years, and SC/ST departmental candidates will be given a maximum age relaxation of 45 years.
Application Fee
Unreserved (General), EWS, and OBC category candidates will be required to pay a fee of only ₹50. This fee is non-refundable. Payment must be made through an Indian Postal Order (IPO) drawn in the name of “Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur.”
