RRC WR Apprentice 2026: The Railway Recruitment Cell, Southern Railway, has issued a general notification for recruitment to the posts of Act Apprentices for the year 2025-26. Under Notification No. RRC/WR/04/2025 (February 18, 2026), a total of 5,349 training posts will be filled across various divisions and workshops. This recruitment is being conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The Railway Recruitment Cell - Southern Railway (RRC-WR) has been designated as the nodal agency for receiving online applications.

When will the application for the 5,349 posts begin?

The application process will be completely online. Applications will open from February 21, 2026, until March 23, 2026. Candidates are advised to apply before the deadline to avoid a last-minute rush on the website.

Future Benefits

Candidates who have completed apprenticeship training in railway establishments and obtained a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) will be given preference for a maximum of 20% of vacancies in future direct recruitment for Level-1 posts (pay scales of ₹18,000 to ₹56,900), provided they meet the eligibility criteria set by RRBs/RRCs.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Students must have passed the 10th grade with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board. Additionally, they must possess an ITI certificate in the trade they are applying for.

Applicants must be between 15 and 24 years of age as of the last date for submitting applications.

Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as of March 23, 2026 (the last date for application). The minimum age of the candidate must not exceed 15 years, and the maximum age must not exceed 24 years.

Relaxations will be given to reserved categories as per the rules. SC/ST candidates will be given a 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit, OBC candidates will be given a 3-year relaxation, and PwBD candidates will be given a 10-year relaxation in the service period, provided they have completed at least six months of continuous military service.

Application Fee

The application fee for apprentice recruitment is ₹100, which is non-refundable. However, SC, ST, PwBD, and female candidates are exempted. The fee can be paid online through debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking. Candidates must check their status after payment.
