TMC vs BJP: Dhupguri politics has heated up before the elections. There is a big rift here in Trinamool Congress. 42 families have simultaneously left TMC and joined BJP.
Fifth note of musical scale. Bengal: On one hand, while many leaders are leaving Left and BJP and joining TMC before the elections, on the other hand, Trinamool Congress (TMC) has suffered a major setback at the lower level in Dhupguri. Here 42 families have left the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Before the elections, BJP has increased its strength in the northern district Jalpaiguri. There has been a major breakdown in the ruling party TMC in Bargharia Gram Panchayat area of Dhupguri Assembly. Under the leadership of the local booth president of TMC, 42 families joined BJP.
reason for defection
BJP leaders claim that people have taken this decision after being fed up with the lack of development in the area and the attitude of the ruling party. This defection comes at a time when TMC is claiming that the state will be opposition-free by the 2026 assembly elections. But even before this election, TMC has suffered a major organizational setback in Dhupguri, Jalpaiguri.
A total of 42 families, including a powerful booth president of TMC, held the BJP flag during a program in Bargharia Gram Panchayat area on Sunday. Political experts believe that there has always been a close contest between BJP and TMC on Dhupguri assembly seat. In such a situation, the booth president leaving the party in an area like Bargharia can be a big loss for TMC at the grassroots level. BJP leadership says that fed up with TMC's 'atrocities', the workers themselves are coming to their party. At the same time, TMC leadership is not paying much attention to this incident.
On the other hand, recently many leaders including Kurseong MLA Vishnu Prasad Sharma have left BJP and joined TMC. There is also discussion in North Bengal that Anant Maharaj can also be included in this list. Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is trying hard to strengthen the party's stronghold in North Bengal. The leaders joining TMC claim that they are changing the party after being influenced by the development work of Mamata Banerjee. He also alleges that BJP does not want to fulfill his wishes. However, BJP has not yet given any official statement on this matter.
