Youth Congress members booked under non-bailable sections for AI summit protest at Bharat Mandapam
Hours after members of the Indian Youth Congress protested at the AI Summit venue Bharat Mandapam, Delhi police lodged an FIR under various sections, on allegations of hurt and assault to the public servant, disobeying the public servant, unlawful assembly and violating prohibitory orders.

"An FIR has been registered under Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for hurt and assault to the public servant, disobeying the public servant, unlawful assembly, violating prohibitory orders," Delhi police official told ANI.

According to police officials, four people who were detained have been arrested.

On the protest by Indian Youth Congress workers, Additional CP Devesh Kumar Mahla told ANI, "The four people detained have been arrested. We have registered an FIR under various sections, including conspiracy, assault on public servant, disobeying the direction of public servant, unlawful assembly, and common intention..."

Reacting to the protest, BJP spokesperson Tuhin Sinha told PTI, “The Congress party should change its name from INC, Indian National Congress, to Indian Naxal Congress.

"The kind of indecency and obscenity displayed by Congress workers at the AI Summit shows that they are only capable of adopting Naxalite tactics. They have no faith in democracy and are not fit for a civilised society," he added.

Sinha noted that Congress does not even understand that the AI Summit is not a BJP summit or Prime Minister Modi’s summit. "India has set a global milestone in the AI sector, and through this summit, Prime Ministers or Presidents from at least 10 countries are present here," he said.

There can be differences of opinion, but the differences of opinion should not emanate to something like this, BJP MP Sasmit Patra told ANI. "I hope better sense prevails and in the interest of national unity, in the view of ensuring that the national pride is kept intact, the national identity that we are one which comes to international events. We should always strive to desist from doing something that might paint our nation in any negative way. Differences can be always expressed, but there is a dialogue, discussion and platforms for that, not doing something like this."
