Colombo. England defeated Pakistan by two wickets in a very exciting match of T20 World Cup. Captain Harry Brook scored a century for England, which enabled the team to chase the target. Pakistan, batting first, scored 164 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. In reply, England won the match by scoring 166 runs for eight wickets in 19.1 overs. Brook scored the highest 100 runs for England, which helped the team register its second consecutive win in the Super Eight.

England has thus secured a place in the semi-finals, while the path ahead has become very difficult for Pakistan. Pakistan’s previous match was washed out in rain and now it has one match left. England had given two blows to Pakistan in the powerplay, but Farhan along with Babar Azam added 46 runs for the third wicket. Babar was out after scoring 25 runs in 24 balls.
