Mangaluru: Police have arrested a father and son for allegedly assaulting and verbally abusing a minor student near a railway track at Attavar Babugudde.
The accused have been identified as Steven Montero and Avil, residents of Attavar.
According to the complaint filed by the boy’s father, the incident occurred on February 23 around 4 pm when the minor boy, belonging to a Scheduled Caste community, was speaking with a minor girl near the railway track.
Steven Montero allegedly recorded a video of them and threatened to upload it on social media. The girl left the spot, after which Avil allegedly took the boy aside, abused him using obscene language and assaulted him. The complaint also alleges caste-based abuse and threats. The video was later circulated online.
A case has been registered at Pandeshwar Police Station, and the accused have been taken into custody for further investigation.
