The demand for electric scooters in India is growing rapidly. In this segment TVS has introduced the Orbiter as its most affordable electric scooter, while Bajaj Auto has launched the Chetak C2501 as an affordable alternative. If you are thinking of buying a new electric scooter, it becomes important to know which scooter is better in terms of design and features.

Who’s ahead in design and looks?

The design of TVS Orbiter is simple and easy to use. It features a flat seat and a flat footboard, making it comfortable for everyday use. Also LED lights and comfortable seats make daily commute easier.

On the other hand, Bajaj Chetak C2501 has a slightly different and classic look. It gets round LED headlights and a sturdy metal body, which gives it a more premium look. If you want a scooter with a stylish and strong body, the Chetak might be more attractive to you.

Differences in battery, range and speed

While the TVS Orbiter has a 3.1 kWh battery, the Bajaj Chetak C2501 gets a 2.5 kWh battery. Orbiter is said to have a range of around 158 km, while Chetak can run up to around 113 km. So Orbiter is more suitable for long distances.

In terms of speed too, Orbiter has a top speed of 68 kmph, while Chetak has a top speed of 60 kmph. But Chetak is leading in terms of charging. The scooter charges from 0 to 80 percent in around 2 hours and 25 minutes, while the Orbiter takes around 4 hours to charge this much.

Space, Safety and Features

The TVS Orbiter gets 34 liters of underseat storage, which is more than the Chetak’s 25 liters of storage. Both the scooters come with robust battery protection and a warranty of 3 years or 50,000 km. In terms of features, both offer modern features like LED lights, digital display and mobile connectivity. The Orbiter gets features like cruise control and navigation, while the Chetak offers features like reverse mode and music control.

Price

The TVS Orbiter is priced around Rs 99,900, while the Bajaj Chetak C2501 is priced around Rs 87,100. If you want a premium look and fast charging at a low price, Chetak can be a good option. But if you want more range and more storage, then TVS Orbiter is a better choice.
