digital desk- Political rhetoric has intensified after the acquittal of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Excise Policy case. National President of Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav has made a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party while sharing a post on social media. Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “Today both truth and justice stand with the popular former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal ji.” He further said that allegations can never be so big that they can cover up the truth. In his statement, he claimed that this decision has brought relief to honest people and BJP supporters should introspect. He made serious allegations against BJP and said that the party has betrayed the trust of the residents of Delhi. Akhilesh also said that those who do not hesitate to make false allegations against saints, ascetics and religious leaders can go to any extent to defame any person or party.
“Moral blow to BJP” – Akhilesh
Giving historical context in his statement, Akhilesh Yadav said that before independence, people belonging to some political ideologies used to work against the freedom fighters and now the same mentality is misusing the democratic institutions. He alleged that such people have been standing with the enemies of the country and today they are no longer worthy of showing their face to anyone. He said the decision was like a “moral death sentence” for the BJP. However, no official response has come yet from BJP on this statement. Political analysts believe that after this case, the opposition parties have got a new issue to attack the central government. It is noteworthy that before the Delhi Assembly elections last year, Akhilesh Yadav and other senior leaders of Samajwadi Party had campaigned in support of Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party. Akhilesh himself also participated in the road show with Kejriwal.
signs of opposition unity
Now after the court’s decision, the discussion about opposition unity has intensified again. SP sources say that this decision will strengthen the morale of the opposition and strengthen the common strategy against BJP in the coming elections. There is also discussion in political circles that this decision in the Delhi Excise Policy case may have an impact on national politics. While on one hand AAP supporters are calling it a victory of justice, on the other hand BJP supporters are calling it a part of the legal process.
