Upcoming Mahindra Scorpio Classic Facelift: What It Could Look Like
Sandy Verma | March 3, 2026 9:24 AM CST

The Mahindra Scorpio is one of those SUVs that made the Indian SUV manufacturer popular in India as well as in international markets. Even after two decades since its official launch, the Mahindra Scorpio holds a special place in the hearts of people, and that is the reason why Mahindra never discontinued the Scorpio when they launched the Scorpio N. Instead, they renamed the original Scorpio and called it the Scorpio Classic. While we know that the Scorpio N is due for a facelift, there are reports suggesting that the Scorpio Classic will also be getting a facelift this year. Here we have a social media post that shows how the upcoming Scorpio Classic may look.

The images have been shared by MRD Vlogs on their Facebook page. In this post, we see a bunch of digitally rendered images that show what the Scorpio Classic facelift may look like. To start with, the Scorpio Classic in the pictures here gets a new headlamp design.

It is sleeker than the current version, with LED DRLs and projector headlamps. The front grille is an evolution of the current version, but we see vertical chrome slats with the new Mahindra logo in the centre. The bumper also gets minor changes in terms of design. In fact, the Scorpio Classic looks a bit more modern and premium in these pictures. We also see the fog lamps integrated into the bumper along with a fairly large lower air dam and a faux skid plate.

The bonnet scoop is retained, and coming to the side, you notice that the SUV gets body-coloured cladding. The alloy wheels are new, and we notice some similarities with the Scorpio N from the side. Moving to the rear, you notice that the tall tail lamp unit on the current Scorpio Classic has been redesigned, and it now looks more like the one seen on the Scorpio N. The unit looks all-LED, and we also see roof rails, an integrated spoiler, muscular tail lamps, and a chunky bumper to complete the SUV look.

It should be noted that the images seen here are nothing but digital renders, and the actual SUV may not end up looking exactly like this. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic has been a popular SUV among customers from both urban and rural markets. One of the main reasons behind its popularity is its ladder-on-frame construction and rugged, utilitarian exterior design.

It doesn’t offer many premium features, but it does offer a commanding presence on the road, and that is what most people look for in an SUV.

As far as the actual facelift is concerned, we feel Mahindra is unlikely to make many major changes to the exterior design, as people already like the current design. Mahindra might make cosmetic changes to the grille and bumper to give it a fresh look without losing its character.

The SUV may also get more features on the inside, such as a bigger or better touchscreen infotainment system that doesn’t look like an aftermarket unit. The Scorpio Classic will continue to draw its power from the same 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine that generates 130 PS and 300 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with a manual transmission only.
