  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 4-5 fresh betel leaves (stem removed)
  • 2 tbsp sugar or as per taste
  • 1 tablespoon fennel
  • 5-6 black peppers
  • 4-5 green cardamoms
  • 8-10 almonds (soaked and peeled)
  • 6-8 cashews
  • 1 tbsp melon seeds
  • 1 tsp rose water

How to make Paan Thandai

Paan Thandai is a great health drink which is perfect for Holi. First of all, soak fennel, black pepper, cardamom, almond, cashew and melon seeds in water for 1-2 hours. After this, put them in the mixer, add a little milk and prepare a fine paste.

This paste will be the base of the thandai, which will give both flavor and thickness. Now wash the betel leaves and cut them into small pieces. Add these in the mixer along with the prepared masala paste and blend well again. Make sure that the paan is ground completely, so that the drink has a smooth texture.

Take cold milk in a big bowl. Add prepared paste to it and stir well. Now add sugar, rose water and saffron in it. If you want, you can strain the mixture through a sieve, so that the texture becomes more smooth. Finally add ice and serve chilled.
