New Delhi: Passengers returning from Muscat and Oman expressed their relief upon arriving back in India on Tuesday, commending the efforts of authorities in managing the escalating tensions in the region. Many travelers, particularly those with children, felt a sense of happiness and relief after their safe arrival.
In conversations with various passengers who landed in Delhi from Muscat, Anisha Agarwal recounted, “We decided to return due to missile interceptions. The situation was frightening, especially with our children present. The loud noises from the interceptions were quite distressing for them.”
Another traveler mentioned, “We opted to come back as we didn’t feel entirely secure there. The missile defense system was functioning effectively. While I wasn’t overly scared, having children with us made it prudent to return to India. Everything is alright now.”
Adil, another individual who returned, shared his experience, stating, “There was a lot of uncertainty. We were anxious about potentially missing our flight due to numerous cancellations. We reached out to the Indian embassy for help. Now that I’m back in India, I feel relaxed and happy. Initially, flights were halted, but services have resumed. My return journey was smooth, with no significant issues.”
The return of these passengers follows reports of Iranian drones and missiles targeting the region, which led to a temporary halt in airport operations. Thousands of Indians in the UAE faced disruptions as flights were canceled and airspace was closed across parts of the Middle East.
Flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi began resuming operations, with aircraft landing in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru on Monday night after several days of suspension.
Dubai Airports confirmed the partial resumption of services and advised travelers to avoid heading to the airport unless they had received direct communication from their airline regarding confirmed departure times. The restoration of flight services has provided significant relief to stranded passengers and their families eagerly awaiting their safe return.
