T20 World Cup 2026 Semifinals Match Officials: The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has now reached its final stage. The teams of India, England, South Africa and New Zealand are left in the race for the trophy. Meanwhile, before the semi-final matches, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the list of match officials for the semi-finals. All these match officials have been selected from the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees and Umpires, which includes experienced names.
Who will umpire in the India-England match?
Team India will play its semi-final match against England on March 5 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This match will be played at 7 pm Indian time. Chris Gaffney and Alauddin Palekar will play the role of on-field umpires in this match. Meanwhile, Adrian Holdstock will be the third umpire. Paul Reiffel will be seen in the role of fourth umpire. Apart from these, Andy Pycroft has been chosen as the match referee.
Let us tell you, Chris Gaffney had umpired a semi-final in the 2024 T20 World Cup, that match was also played between the teams of India and England. At the same time, Alauddin Palekar has played a role in England's two matches and India's victory over Netherlands in this tournament.
He got the responsibility for the first semi-final
The first semi-final will be played between the teams of South Africa and New Zealand on March 4 at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 7 pm. On-field umpires Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf have been selected for this match. India's Nitin Menon will play the role of third umpire. Whereas, Rod Tucker will be the fourth umpire and Javagal Srinath will be the match referee.
Let us tell you, Richard Illingworth had umpired in the semi-final of South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup. At the same time, Alex Wharf was involved in a group match of New Zealand in this tournament. On the other hand, Indian umpire Nitin Menon has got the responsibility of third umpire due to his experience.
