Holi Special Ice Cream Recipe: Holi means sweets and dishes, but if you are bored of eating the same Gujhiya and salty food every year, then try something cold and royal this time. Amidst the hubbub of colours, when you serve creamy homemade thandai ice cream to your guests, they will never get tired of praising you.

The festival of Holi arrives with bright sunshine and the beginning of summer in North India. In such a situation, when you feel tired and thirsty after playing with colors, you feel like eating something cold. The taste of traditional Thandai is wonderful but if it is given the form of ice cream then it doubles the fun of the festival. The best part is that you do not need an expensive ice cream maker or standing in the kitchen for hours to make it.

Shahi Thandai Ice Cream

This ice cream is not just a dessert but a combination of health and taste. The dry fruits, fennel, black pepper and saffron used in it not only cool the body but also help in digestion. Compared to the adulterated and preservative based ice creams of the market, this pure homemade recipe is safe for both children and adults.

necessary materials

  • Full cream milk or heavy cream: 2 cups
  • Condensed Milk: 1/2 cup (as per sweetness)
  • Thandai masala: 3 tbsp (mixture of almonds, pistachios, fennel, cardamom and saffron)
  • Dry rose petals and finely chopped nuts: for decoration

easy method to make

  • Take cold heavy cream in a large bowl and whip it until it becomes thick.
  • Now add condensed milk and prepared thandai masala. If you want a little more royal taste, you can also add some saffron milk to it.
  • Mix it gently with the help of a spatula so that the fluffiness of the cream is maintained.
  • Pour this mixture into an airtight container. Sprinkle rose petals and chopped pistachios on top. Keep it in the freezer for 6 to 8 hours or overnight.

Serving Tip

When guests arrive on the afternoon of Holi, take it out in a small earthen kulhar and drizzle a little honey or Rooh-Afza on top. As Instagram friendly as it looks, it is equally delicious to eat.

This Holi, add new flavor to old traditions. This Shahi Thandai Ice Cream is not only easy to make but will also add a luxurious touch to your Holi celebrations.
