Some love stories, and perhaps the best ones, happen naturally. As poets and philosophers say, some forever-ever-afters are written in the cards. When two people are destined to be with each other, fate brings them together in the most unexpected way. Something similar happened to Kannada native Praveen Pundalik after he took a trip to Phuket Island in Thailand. What he believed to be a casual getaway turned into a life-changing experience for the Qatar-based individual. Reason? He met the love of his life, Dorina, an air hostess from Europe’s Republic of Moldova, during the vacation.
A Phuket romance like never before
Praveen Pundalik shared his endearing love story to Humans of Bombay. According to the vlogger, he met his now-wife on a flight to Phuket and exchanged a casual greeting with her. Although he admitted that she was beautiful, Praveen didn’t dare to approach her. But during breakfast at the hotel lobby, they had a brief interaction that changed their life course. A vlogger, Praveen, told her that he wished to explore the beach, to which Dorina replied whether she could join him.

The duo rented a motorbike, strolled through the seaside, clicked pictures, fed stray animals and laughed with each other, despite not exchanging numbers. When Dorina requested the pictures 2 weeks later, the message transformed into late-night calls and into long conversations. Praveen confessed that he fell in love with Dorina’s calm and patient demeanour before the two got into a relationship in 2018. The travel vlogger proposed to her a year later in a dreamy and peaceful setting at Purple Island, an hour from Qatar.
Karnataka man and UK woman's cross-cultural love story
Remembering the special day, Praveen Pundalik shared that he and Dorina kayaked to a secluded sunset spot and he eventually asked her hand for marriage, with a beating heart. She, of course, said yes. Despite their cultural differences, both of their families accepted their decision, understanding what the two mean to each other. Praveen and Dorina got married in 2022. Cut to the present, they have been living between Qatar and the UK with their baby girl.
Praveen Pundalik said that he and Dorina ensure that their daughter develops a close bond with her grandparents and hence they keep visiting India. In conclusion, the video creator marvelled at the idea of how a simple ‘Hi’ paved the way for a lifetime of togetherness. The story left social media users gushing and they congratulated the couple in the comments section
