Anger Control Tips: Anger is a natural human emotion which sometimes gives us courage and sometimes goes uncontrolled and ruins our health. From high blood pressure to heart attack, the side effects of anger can be fatal. But do you know that it can be controlled even without any medicine.
In today’s busy life, getting upset over small things has become common. But both medical science and Ayurveda warn that if anger is not controlled in time, it causes serious mental stress and physical diseases in the long run. According to Ayurveda, anger is a sign of imbalance of Pitta and Kapha in the body which directly attacks our nervous system.
4-7-8 technique
When you get angry, your heart rate increases and the logical part of the brain stops working. In such a situation, breathing exercise is most effective.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath through the nose for 4 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds and then exhale slowly through the mouth for 8 seconds. This process takes your brain out of emotional mode and into logical mode, which makes you feel calm instantly.
a glass of cold water
When angry, body temperature suddenly increases. According to Ayurveda, the simplest solution to calm this increased temperature (pitta) is a glass of cold water. Instead of gulping down the water in one go, drink it slowly, sip by sip. This not only cools your brain but also gives you time to divert your attention from the situation.
physical distance
The intensity of anger is highest during arguments. In such a situation, the most effective way is to move away from that place for 5 minutes instead of reacting. By maintaining silence, you avoid speaking unwanted words, which saves you from regrets and stress later.
herbal remedies
Ayurveda recommends consumption of Tulsi, Ashwagandha and turmeric to control anger in the long term. Consuming basil tea or chewing its leaves reduces stress hormone (cortisol). Along with this, daily practice of Anulom-Vilom and Kapalbhati for 10-15 minutes makes your nervous system so strong that small things do not distract you.
Holding on to anger is like holding a burning coal in your hand which burns you before the other person. By adopting these natural and scientific remedies, you can start a healthy and peaceful life.
