An amount of ₹ 40,000/- was illegally withdrawn from the debit card of Sarvdev Singh, son of Basawan Singh, resident of Ghoraval police station area, by an unknown person on 01.03.2026 from the ATM of Bank of India at Robertsganj. In this regard, a complaint was lodged by the applicant through cyber helpline number 1930.
As part of the campaign being run against cyber crime and criminals by Superintendent of Police, Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar and supervision of Area Officer Ghorawal Rahul Pandey, the cyber team of Ghorawal police station under the able leadership of Inspector in-charge of Ghorawal police station Brijesh Singh visited the NCRP portal and obtained necessary information from the concerned bank through e-mail. Thereafter, after ensuring the identity of the person making the withdrawal, the total amount of ₹ 40,000/- was successfully returned to the applicant on 02.03.2026. While thanking Sonbhadra Police, the applicant greatly praised the cyber team of police station Ghorawal.
The team that returned the money mainly included Brijesh Singh, Inspector-in-charge Ghorawal, CO Yogesh Mishra, Cyber Help Desk Ghorawal, CO Nitish Raj, Cyber Help Desk Ghorawal. To complain about a cyber crime incident, immediately call the cyber helpline number 1930 or lodge a complaint in person or at the nearest police station.
