Smriti Mandhana No.1 ODI Batter: In the latest update released on Tuesday, India’s batsman Smriti Mandhana and Australia’s spinner Alana King have reached the top of the ICC Women’s ODI Batting and Bowling Rankings. Both achieved this milestone after three ODI matches played within a week. Mandhana’s scores of 58 and 31 were enough to overtake Laura Wolvaardt (790), who will have a chance to regain the top spot when South Africa takes on New Zealand in March and April.

Alana King at number two

Meanwhile, King (775) ended Sophie Ecclestone’s almost four-year reign in the bowlers’ rankings. Throughout the week, King took seven wickets at an average of 16.71, including a haul of 4-33 in 10 overs in the third ODI, leading Australia to a 185-run win. His rating of 775 is also the highest in his career. King is joined by four other Australian bowlers in the top eight: Ash Gardner (third), Annabel Sutherland (fifth), Megan Schutt (seventh), and Kim Garth (eighth).

Ranking of other players also increased

The rankings of other famous players of the series have also increased. After losing two out of three T20Is at home, Australia bounced back and won all three ODI matches of the multi-format series. Beth Mooney, Gardner and Alyssa Healy, who retired from ODIs after the series, were notably included. Healy finished his ODI career with a century in his last match, and finished fourth in the batting rankings (744), between Mooney (749) and Gardner (724).

Captain Harmanpreet at number nine

Despite losing all three matches, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur moved up four spots to ninth position in the batting rankings (652), scoring 53, 54 and 25.

In the ODI all-rounder rankings, Gardner (516) is on top, almost 100 rating points ahead of second-placed Hayley Matthews of West Indies (418). Sutherland (408) moved up two spots, while young Australian Georgia Woll made a huge jump of 23 spots to 34th in the batting rankings after averaging 54 in three ODI matches.
