Bihar Anganwadi Recruitment 2026: There's great news for young people aspiring to join the Bihar Anganwadi workforce. Preparations are underway to begin the recruitment process for over 20,000 Anganwadi workers and assistants in Bihar starting next April. According to the Social Welfare Department, approximately 114,000 Anganwadi centers are currently operating in Bihar. Approval is currently being sought for 18,000 new centers. Approval is expected by the end of March. After this, recruitment for workers and assistants will begin at 9,000 of these centers.

Candidates wishing to join the Bihar Anganwadi workforce can now prepare their necessary documents for application. The recruitment advertisement, along with the service requirements and application requirements, will be released on the official website of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Directorate, Government of Bihar, https://patna.nic.in/. Online applications will open district-wise.

Bihar Anganwadi Sevika and Sahayika Qualifications
To apply for the Anganwadi Sevika and Sahayika positions, the minimum educational qualification required is to pass the Intermediate (12th) or equivalent.

Among all applications submitted for each position, the candidate with the highest educational qualification will be selected for the Sevika and Sahayika positions.

If two or more candidates have the same highest educational qualification, the candidate with the higher merit will be selected for the Sevika/Sahayika position.

If the merit scores are equal, the older candidate will be selected.

The applicant must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 35 years as of the date of publication of the recruitment advertisement.

Anganwadi Sevika/Sahayikas can work until the age of 65, after which they will automatically retire.

To be selected for the Anganwadi Sevika/Sahayika positions, applicants must be residents of the ward. A permanent residential certificate issued by the competent authority must be attached to the application form, which must include the name of the relevant ward.

Anganwadi workers are also eligible.
Anganwadi assistants who already work as assistants can also apply for the position of Sevika. They must have at least five years of experience working as assistants. They must also meet the prescribed criteria and other eligibility criteria for Sevika selection. It is important to note that candidates who have been convicted by a court of law or who have been dismissed from the position due to irregularities, will not be eligible for this position.
