UP: CM Yogi Adityanath celebrates Holi in Style - WATCH

Holi is being celebrated across Uttar Pradesh today with traditional zeal and religious enthusiasm. From early morning, streets were drenched in vibrant colours as people gathered to mark the festival of joy and togetherness.
In Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated Holi in his distinctive style. Wearing dark glasses, he played with colours, fed jaggery to cows, and applied abir to them. He also took part in the traditional procession of Lord Shri Narasimha, organised under the aegis of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Gorakhpur Metropolitan.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the divine incarnation of Lord Narasimha symbolizes the eternal victory of righteousness over evil. He prayed that the blessings of Lord Narasimha bring courage, prosperity, balance, and positive energy into everyone’s lives.
In Lucknow, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak celebrated Holi at their official residences along with party leaders, supporters, and media representatives.
Festive scenes were also witnessed in Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Kanpur, where people danced to DJ music and smeared colours on one another. In Varanasi (Kashi), tourists from nearly 20 countries, including Australia and Ireland, joined in the celebrations, applying colours and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
In Ayodhya, a special ‘Phoolon ki Holi’ (flower Holi) was celebrated for Ram Lalla, while in Vrindavan, a large number of devotees thronged temples to play Holi with gulal.
Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav celebrated Holi in his hometown Saifai with family members and supporters.
Meanwhile, in Shahjahanpur, a unique traditional procession featuring a symbolic ‘Governor General’ seated on a buffalo cart was taken out. As per custom, shoes, slippers, tyres, and brooms were thrown symbolically during the procession. Heavy security arrangements were put in place to ensure the event passed off peacefully.
