It can take a lot of guts to finally take the plunge and shave your entire head off. Dramatically changing your appearance, whether it's with a new hairstyle or tattoo, can work huge wonders for your confidence.

Now one balding man revealed it was about time he "pulled the trigger" and removed all his hair. In multiple posts on social media, the bloke shared a series of shots which showed his receding locks and the top of his balding head. He also admitted to booking an appointment where he told members of a popular forum it was time to "let go".

In the first Reddit post, he said: "Think it's been time for a while now... but finally decided to let go and make it MY choice."

Meanwhile a few days later, he gave fans an update where he began: "I had an appointment today and finally pulled the trigger."

He continued: "And here are today's before and after pictures!"

The man revealed in the comments how he went to see his friend's barber to have his hair shaved off professionally.

While many people in the comments section urged him not to touch his beard, he confirmed it would be staying.

And once he showed the after shots, people were extremely complimentary of his new look.

The post racked up 22,000 upvotes and 1,200 comments as one said: "Omg you look great!" Another added: "It really does look good dude. You literally look like 5 years younger. That's wild."

Meanwhile another commented on the thread and admitted: "I'd say 100 years younger. What a lovely glow-up!"

But others admitted he dropped closer to 25-30 years. Someone else gushed: "You're right where you belong. The difference is huge! Looking good friend."

And a Reddit user also commented: "Dude. You look 30000x better."

Meanwhile this isn't the first time someone looked so much better since taking the plunge. Previously a balding man with long hair showed off his transformation.

The bloke was sporting a fairly long hairstyle with some facial hair, but clearly conscious of his receding hairline, he decided to take action. Photos show his hair before the dramatic cut then he's completely bald and much happier with his new look.

The popular forum, which is home to 1.3million weekly visitors and 21,000 weekly contributions, aims to inspire many men to take the plunge and go bald.
