The Gilded Age fans are in for a treat as HBO has announced season four of the hit series will include a whole host of guest stars.

The platform also unveiled Kelley Curran, who plays Enid "Turner" Winterton, has been upped to a series regular for the latest outing.

Fans are excited to see the main stars return including Carrie Coon, Cynthia Nixon, Morgan Spector and Louisa Jacobson, but this time they will be joined by four new faces.

Jim Gaffigan, Dallas Roberts, Elizabeth Marvel and Andrew Burnap have all joined the Julian Fellowes series as guest stars.

The show teased "be careful what you wish for" as it unveiled the plot for the new season, which continues to follow New York City's social scene.

Deadline announced: "Bertha Russell (Coon) changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) seizes an opportunity to regain her position.

"Meanwhile, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) forges a new path for herself and Peggy (Denée Benton) works to be accepted by her future in-laws. In this new era, you must be careful what you wish for."

From this, it appears the Russells will be facing tough challenges after the season three finale saw Bertha and George (Spector) under immense pressure.

The couple looked to be heading to divorce court, but there is a chance they are able to fix their relationship as well as their reputation.

Some potential weddings have also been teased for Oscar and Turner, Marian and Larry (Richardson), and Peggy and Dr William Kirkland (Jordan Donica).

Deadline shared some details on the new cast and the characters they will play, with Gaffigan set to star as Grover Cleveland, the 22nd President of the United States, who is visiting New York.

Roberts stars as Daniel Manning, a seasoned politician and Secretary of the Treasury under President Grover Cleveland.

Marvel will play Nurse Virginia Saville, a kind woman who works at the Neighbourhood Settlement House in the Lower East Side.

Finally, Burnap will star as Porter, a young gentleman of society with an Ivy League education and money to throw at exciting new ventures.

At this moment in time, a release date for the fourth outing is yet to be announced.
