There is discussion that state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar can go to Rajya Sabha and his son Nishant Kumar can be made Deputy Chief Minister. If Nitish Kumar becomes a member of Rajya Sabha, then the post of CM will become vacant and in such a situation, there is a possibility that BJP can make it its Chief Minister. Before the Rajya Sabha elections, such speculations in the political circles about the possibilities of new leadership in Bihar have gained momentum. Amidst all these speculations, the sudden departure of JDU working president Sanjay Jha from Patna to Delhi is also in discussion.

Earlier, there were preparations to send Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar to Rajya Sabha, but now the name of Nitish Kumar himself has started being taken for Rajya Sabha. On the other hand, speculations that JDU working president Sanjay Jha is in touch with the central leadership of BJP are giving strength to the idea that Nitish may leave the state and become active in Delhi politics. Before leaving for Delhi, Sanjay Jha also met Union Minister Lalan Singh. It is also being speculated that talks are going on between the top leadership of JDU and BJP regarding this new political equation and future strategy.

Let us tell you that in the results of the assembly elections held in 2025, BJP had emerged as the largest party in the state. BJP had won 89 seats while JDU won 85 seats. Thus, even at that time, speculations were being made that being the largest party, BJP could claim to become its CM, however, BJP formed the NDA government in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar without any claim for the post of CM.
