A case of issuance of 22 fake passports at the same address has come to light in Bhojpur police station area of Ghaziabad. The Crime Branch has arrested two accused including the mastermind of this gang. According to the police, the mastermind used to take the contract of making passports on the basis of fake documents by charging around Rs 1.5 lakh per passport. Investigation revealed that passports of many people were prepared using the same address. Investigation has also revealed that a postal clerk of Bhojpur police station is also involved in the gang, who is currently absconding. The police is raiding in search of him.
ADCP Crime Piyush Singh said that the arrested accused have been identified as Mustaq Ahmed, resident of Jamia Nagar and Mudasir Khan, resident of Daryaganj. According to the police, Mustaq had earlier also lived in Khayala. He was involved in property dealing and was also running a network of making passports on the basis of fake documents. During interrogation, Mustaq revealed that he used to charge around Rs 1.5 lakh from each customer for getting a fake passport made. The gang was preparing passports of many people using the same address.
Responsibility of every member fixed
During interrogation, it was revealed that the responsibility of every member in the gang was fixed and the amount was distributed on the same basis. Mustaq Ahmed was the mastermind, who charged around Rs 1.5 lakh per passport. Mudasir Khan’s job was to bring customers. He used to get Rs 25 thousand per passport. After the fake documents were prepared, the entire process of getting the passport made was overseen by gang member Vivek Gandhi. The police have already arrested him and sent him to jail. Investigation has also revealed that a postal clerk of Bhojpur police station is also involved in the gang, who is currently absconding. The police are continuously raiding in search of him.
What was told during interrogation?
During interrogation, Mudasir told that he is originally a resident of Batmaloo (Srinagar) and was working as a cab driver while living in Daryaganj for the last several years. In the year 2019, he met Mustaq in connection with making fake documents. After this, both of them together formed an organized gang to get passports made on the basis of fake documents.
This is how the entire network ran
According to ADCP Crime Piyush Singh, during interrogation the accused told that passport applications were made from their own mobile numbers. Investigation found that out of 22 passport applications, 13 were made from the same mobile number. 6 applications were made from the second number. Whereas 2 applications were made from a different number. Investigation also revealed that the gang members used to prepare documents like Aadhaar card, driving license, birth certificate and bank passbook fraudulently. Applications for passport were made on the basis of these fake documents.
Police say that the role of each member in this organized network was fixed and the amount was distributed accordingly. So far, two accused including the mastermind have been arrested in the case, while one accused has already been sent to jail and a postal clerk is absconding.
