Celebrity Traitors star Jonathan Ross has disclosed his predictions for the winners at the upcoming Oscars.

The 98th Academy Awards are set to take place on Sunday, March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

For the third year running, ITV will broadcast the ceremony and its glamorous red carpet coverage on ITV1 and streaming service ITVX.

Broadcaster Jonathan is set to return to helm the channel's coverage on the night, providing UK viewers with an insider's view of the event, complete with live commentary, interviews with celebrity guests and film experts, and impromptu chats with the stars as they grace the red carpet.

The special programme will also feature live coverage from the Oscars red carpet, with Ross King and Angelique Jackson reporting live from the Dolby Theatre, immediately followed by the main awards ceremony.

Jonathan, known for his role on The Masked Singer, appeared on BBC's The One Show on Wednesday (March 4) to promote his new Channel 4 show Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, but conversation soon turned to the forthcoming Oscars ceremony.

Sharing his forecasts for the evening, film enthusiast Jonathan told hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo: "I think Best Picture is going to be a toss-up between One Battle After Another or Sinners.

"I think Sinners will do better in the States than it did here because at its heart it is set in America, it's sort of an American story and it is an important story of American times. One Battle After Another was a very interesting and timely film as well.

"I suspect Michael Jordan will probably get Best Actor over there and I think thoroughly deserved. I think Jessie Buckley will probably get Best Actress for her role in Hamnet."

The 97th Oscars ceremony in 2025 struck a chord with UK audiences, with the broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX collectively reaching an estimated five million viewers.

Having already bagged a Golden Globe and a BAFTA this year, actress Jessie, who portrays Agnes Shakespeare in Hamnet, extended her winning run at the Actor Awards last Sunday. But will her victorious streak persist at the Oscars later this month?

Sinners star Michael B Jordan clinched an unexpected victory at the Actor Awards, previously known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, providing him with a boost of momentum in the final weeks leading up to the Oscars.
