Mumbai: Axis Asset Management Company has elevated R Sivakumar as its Chief Investment Officer (CIO). He will succeed Ashish Gupta, who was roped in as CIO as part of a top-deck reshuffle in March 2023 following the capital markets regulator's probe into front-running allegations against Axis's former chief trader, Viresh Joshi. Sivakumar was head of the fund's fixed income business until early 2024 before being appointed the company's head of corporate strategy. Gupta had joined Axis Mutual Fund after a 14-year stint at Credit Suisse, where he was part of the research team.
