According to News24, the schedule for the new edition of IPL 2026 will be announced on Friday, March 6 at 7 PM. BCCI has fixed the date to announce the schedule and soon the schedule will be available to everyone. This time, the IPL schedule will be announced in two phases. The first match of the season will be against M in Bengaluru, the home of defending champions Bangalore. It will be played at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

When will the IPL excitement begin?

The IPL was initially scheduled to start on March 26, but now it may start on March 28 or 29. The final match of the tournament will be played on 31st May. According to the information received, the first match of this season will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Additionally, RCB will play five of their home matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium this season. In every IPL season, the first match is played at the home ground of the defending champion, so this season could also start at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

IPL 2026 will be held in two phases. The board has taken this decision as Rajya Sabha elections are going on in five states of India. The Election Commission has not yet announced the election dates in these states, so the schedule will be announced in two phases. Assembly elections will be held in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Assam. Election day matches will be avoided in these states. Therefore, BCCI will only announce the schedule for the first phase.
