Is High Potential coming back for Season 3?

The future of popular crime dramaHigh Potential has been officially confirmed.

Fronted by Kaitlin Olson, the acclaimed series follows single mum-of-three Morgan (Olson), who possesses an extraordinary intellect. Whilst working a cleaning shift at the police department, Morgan inadvertently assists in solving a seemingly impossible case.

Upon discovering her exceptional intellectual capabilities, the officers bring Morgan on board as a consultant. She teams up with rule-following detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), and the pair become a formidable crime-solving duo.

Since launching in 2024, the police drama has continually garnered outstanding reviews, achieving a remarkable 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating for its second series.

With Season 2 broadcasting its finale this April, ABC has at last announced what lies ahead for the programme, reports the Mirror.

Yes, High Potential will return for a third run. The announcement was made via the programme's official social media channels, which shared footage of the cast.

The caption reads: "The case isn't closed #HighPotential has been renewed for Season 3! Who's excited?".

According to Deadline, ABC is currently seeking a new showrunner as present show boss Todd Harthan is departing to concentrate on developing the live-action adaptation of YA series Eragon.

Fans have been left delighted by the announcement, with many acknowledging they anticipated the show would be recommissioned.

High Potential is based on the 2021 French and Belgian television series, HPI. The ABC drama was created by Oscar nominee Drew Goddard, who has worked on major shows such as Lost and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
