Looking for an Onix in Pokémon Pokopia? Here is all you need to know about it. Follow the steps inside the guide to get your hands on the Onix in the game. So, let’s get started and see what it is about.

What is Onix in Pokémon Pokopia?

In the Pokopia ecosystem, Onix is really loved for its high physical defense. While it’s not exactly the fastest, its best feature is that it is perfect for soaking up hits while you set up your strategy. If it is in your team, you have a sturdy, reliable, and intimidating Pokémon to look at. Just make sure that you keep it away from Water and Grass types, as this can be a threat. In the world of Pokémon Pokopia, Onix holds its ground as the classic, towering Rock/Snake Pokémon we all know, and thus must deal with it accordingly. If you want a hero who can deal with the defensive Pokémon leader, then Onix is your go-to option. It’s a great addition to your collection!

How to get Onix in Pokopia?

If you want to get Onix while playing Pokémon Pokopia, then these are the steps that can come in handy.

Find the Cave

If you want this Pokémon, you have to find the cave. So, head to the beach area, which is found to the left of the Pokémon Center. If you hear crying coming from within the cave, just know that you are at the right place. Inside, you’ll find Onix trapped behind “extra hard” rocks that your Rock Smash can’t break. Hold on, we’ll fix it.

The Humidity Quest

Since you can’t break it, to soften the rocks, you need to make it rain. For this, try to talk to Professor Tangrowth, who will suggest finding a Slowpoke. You’ll need to build a “Seaside Tall Grass” habitat to attract one. It is doable, but it may take a bit.

Trigger a Rainstorm

Once Slowpoke arrives, you have to increase the area’s humidity. Complete sub-quests for other Pokémon until the humidity is high enough for Slowpoke to use a 100-point Yawn. This is required as it will trigger a rainstorm that we need.

The Rescue

Now you have to return to the cave while it’s raining. The rocks are now soft enough to destroy with Rock Smash. Break them soon to free Onix!

Build His Home

To keep him in your town, you must create a Smooth Tall Grass Habitat. This will be his home. You’ll need a Smooth Rock, which is found in a Poké Ball near where he was trapped, and four pieces of Dry Tall Grass. This will be enough!

And it’s done! You will have your Onix now.
