IAF Su-30MKI Crash : Two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots were killed in the crash of Su-30 MKI fighter jet in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district. A day after the Russian aircraft went missing, the Indian Air Force on Friday confirmed the death of Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Durgakar.

According to the information, this Indian Air Force jet was on a training sortie and disappeared from the radar shortly after taking off from Jorhat airbase on Thursday. “The IAF expresses its grief over the demise of Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Durgakar, who suffered life-threatening injuries in the Su-30 crash,” the Indian Air Force said in an X Post on Friday. All IAF personnel extend our deepest condolences, and stand firmly with the bereaved family at this sad time.

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed condolences on the demise of both the Indian Air Force pilots. Rajnath Singh wrote on Twitter, ‘Deeply saddened by the loss of Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Durgakar in the Su-30 crash. His courage and service to the country will always be remembered with pride and gratitude. My deepest condolences to the grieving families. The country stands firmly with him in this hour of grief.
