Meanwhile, giving good news to the farmers, the Chief Minister announced the loan waiver (Maharashtra Budget 2026). Crop loans of up to 2 lakhs of farmers in the state will be waived off. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that the loan of the arrears of farmers will be waived till September 30, 2025. This farmer scheme has been named as Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar Farmer Scheme (Shetkari Karjmafi). Fadnavis also said that those farmers who regularly repay the loan will also be given an incentive of up to 50 thousand financial benefits. Apart from this, Fadnavis said that the government is also working towards taking long-term measures to make the banking system of the state more efficient and to free the farmers from the burden of debt in the future.
