The new academic session for private schools in Sharjah with Indian and Pakistani curricula will now begin on March 30, 2026, instead of March 23.

Amid the ongoing tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran, difficulties are also increasing for students studying in Gulf countries. Important news has emerged for Indian and Pakistani students studying in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Sharjah's education department, the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), has decided to change the start date for the next academic session.

In a circular, the education authority stated that the new session for private schools in Sharjah, where Indian and Pakistani curricula are taught, will no longer begin on the previously scheduled date. Classes for students will now begin on March 30, 2026.

The new session was scheduled to begin on March 23rd.

According to the previously released education calendar, the new session for Indian curriculum schools in Sharjah was scheduled to begin on March 23rd, 2026. However, with the new announcement, students will have to wait another week for classes to begin. SPEA stated that this decision was made after consulting with schools and reviewing the current situation. This will give schools more time to make new arrangements.

Decision Made Following School Requests

The Education Authority stated that this decision was made following requests from schools. Many schools in Sharjah had requested a postponement of the start date of the new session through the School Principals' Council. The schools stated that they needed additional time to prepare for the new classes in the current situation. After reviewing all these factors, SPEA made the new decision and informed schools about it through a circular.

Online exams will be held between March 9th and 12th.

SPEA has provided another important piece of information for students. According to the authority, examinations for students between March 9 and March 12, 2026, can be conducted online. This means students will be able to take exams from home. This will ensure the continuation of the academic process and eliminate the need for students to come to school.

New Guidelines Issued for School Staff

The Education Authority has also issued new guidelines for school teachers and administrative staff. According to the circular, some staff may visit the school premises if needed, but their number will be limited. The authority has clearly stated that no more than 15 staff should be present in the school at a time. This arrangement will be for essential work only.

Parents Will Also Be Allowed to Visit School

SPEA has also issued some guidelines for parents. Parents will be allowed to visit the school, but only in limited numbers. Parents can visit the school to collect uniforms and books. However, the school administration must ensure that there is no overcrowding at one time and that all arrangements are in place.

Instructions to School Administrations

The Education Authority has instructed all schools to make internal arrangements in accordance with the new academic calendar. They have also been instructed to inform students and parents of the new dates and rules in a timely manner. Schools must ensure that all necessary preparations are completed in accordance with the new dates so that when classes resume, studies can begin without any problems.
