Amidst the news of Middle East tension and oil crisis across the world, there was only one question in the minds of the people of India – are the prices of petrol and diesel going to increase again? But now the government has ended this suspense and made it clear that at present the prices of petrol and diesel will not be increased. This news has brought great relief to crores of drivers.

Petrol and diesel prices will not increase

According to government sources, there is no plan to increase the prices of petrol and diesel as of now. For the last few days, there was a strong discussion across the country that due to the increase in the price of crude oil in the international market, fuel may become expensive in India too.

But the government has clearly said that the general public does not need to worry at the moment. The prices of petrol and diesel will remain stable and there will be no additional burden on people’s pockets. This decision has brought a lot of relief to the people who drive daily.

Impact of Middle East crisis around the world

The increasing tension in the Middle East and the situation around the Strait of Hormuz has shaken the oil market all over the world. Many countries fear that if oil supply from here is affected, global oil prices may increase rapidly.

This is definitely a matter of concern for a big oil importing country like India, but the government says that the situation is being constantly monitored. So far, there has been no major impact on India’s oil supply.

India’s new oil strategy

India has also made a major change in its oil import policy. Earlier, about 60% of the country’s crude oil needs were met from sources outside the Strait of Hormuz. Now it has been increased to about 70%.

In simple language, India no longer wants to depend too much on one route or one region. The government is making its supply more secure by purchasing oil from different countries so that the country does not face problems in any crisis.

Government hits back at opposition regarding LPG

Meanwhile, the opposition, especially Congress, had raised questions on the government regarding the prices of LPG gas. On this the government hit back and said that the opposition is spreading confusion unnecessarily.

The government says that his statement was only regarding the prices of petrol and diesel. The things that are being said about LPG are completely baseless. The government made it clear that the public need not be afraid of wrong information.

Appeal to the public – no need to panic

The government has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and not to panic and crowd at petrol pumps. There is sufficient stock of oil in the country and the supply is continuing normally.

The government is constantly monitoring the international situation and will take immediate action if necessary. At present, it is a matter of relief for the common people that the prices of petrol and diesel are going to remain stable.
