How to make a big fund from small savings

Regularly saving small amounts under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana can accumulate a substantial sum over time. For example, saving around ₹200 daily and investing it can accumulate approximately ₹6,000 per month.

The government currently offers an annual interest rate of approximately 8.2 percent on this scheme. With consistent investment over a long period of time, this small amount can gradually grow into a substantial fund, easily meeting the needs of daughters' higher education and marriage.  

A fund of more than Rs 40 lakh can be created in 21 years

If you continue investing Rs 6,000 every month for 21 years, the total investment amount will reach Rs 15,12,000. At the current interest rate of 8.2 percent, this could yield an interest of approximately Rs 25,21,942. Thus, the total amount at maturity could reach approximately Rs 40.33 lakh.

How much money can you deposit in a year?

Under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, investors can deposit a maximum of ₹150,000 in a year. The minimum deposit is ₹250. Through this scheme, the government is striving to secure the future of girls from all walks of life.
