Fetus found in a youth’s bag at the gate of Jabalpur High Court, the person had come for hearing, the whole matter came to light after police interrogation.

There was a stir at Gate No. 6 of Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur on Monday afternoon when during investigation a fetus wrapped in polythene was found in a bag. The police security personnel deployed at the gate immediately informed the Civil Line police station and handed over the concerned person to them.

During initial interrogation, the person was identified as Dayashankar Pandey, a resident of Baikunthpur in Rewa district. According to the police, Dayashankar will hear his petition in the High Court.E Had arrived in connection with the case and had brought along with the documents the same bag in which the fetus was kept.

Background of the petition, controversy and accident

Dayashankar Pandey told during interrogation that he was having a dispute with the owners of the firm in which he worked. He says that he had complained to Rewa police regarding this dispute and alleged harassment, but no action was taken.

He also told that on March 5, while going home with his wife, a road accident occurred, in which the wife suffered serious injuries. According to Dayashankar, the wife suffered a miscarriage on March 8. He said that even after this entire incident, he did not get the expected help from the police, hence he filed a petition in the Madhya Pradesh High Court, for the hearing of which he had come to Jabalpur.

Police action after security procedure in High Court premises

As soon as the matter came to light during the security check at the High Court gate, the local police station took the process into its own hands. According to officials, Dayashankar was interrogated in detail and his matter was also brought to the notice of Baikunthpur police.

Civil Line police station later counseled Dayashankar. After this, in the presence of police and Dayashankar Pandey, the fetus was taken to Kariya Pathar crematorium and buried.

The matter came to light on the day of legal hearing

According to the police, Dayashankar is pursuing his own petition. His hearing was scheduled for Monday, that is why he had reached the court premises. The incident again underlined the sensitivity of the security check of the court premises, as the case was caught during checking right at the entrance.

At present, the police has informed about completing the necessary process on the basis of available facts. Also, the points made by Dayashankar have been conveyed to the concerned regional police, so that further legal and administrative action can be decided at the local level.
