Terrifying pact of 'toxic far-Left zealots' could deal devastating blow to Keir Starmer

A pact between three "far-Left zealots" could inflict devastating losses on Sir Keir Starmer, it has been claimed. Labelled a "toxic, anti-British" force by Reform, the rumoured pact risks turning the UK into a "sectarian sideshow, more obsessed with the Middle East than fixing broken Britain", it has been said.

Tory peer Lord Hayward told the Policy Exchange think tank in central London that the alliance would mean Your Party, led by Jeremy Corbyn, working with the Green Party and George Galloway's Workers Party. Lord Hayward warned that the Prime Minister could face a surge of Green councillors in his own Camden borough after May's election. Speaking at Policy Exchange in central London, the elections expert warned: "At the moment we are seeing a surge in the Greens, but will that last?"

Just over 5,000 council seats are up for election in May, with a little more than 1,800 up for grabs in London.

Lord Hayward said Sir Keir may face a Green Party threat in Camden, in his north London constituency. He pointed to the recent Gorton and Denton parliamentary by-election, which Labour lost to the Greens, as an example of the risk.

He warned that "tactical voting is becoming more common".

A Reform UK spokesperson described the rumoured alliance as "far-Left zealots" and "Islamist agitators" which "threatens the social fabric of the UK".

The spokesman added: "The Greens, flanked by the Workers Party and Your Party, will morph Britain into a sectarian sideshow, more obsessed with the Middle East than fixing broken Britain."

The spokesperson urged people to reject the "cabal", saying that "only Reform UK can stop this dangerous divisive force from dominating British politics".

Speaking at the event, Lord Hayward said Reform would be looking to make gains in the capital, with the south-east London borough of Bexley "clearly Reform's first target" in the city.

But he warned that in Barnet, Wandsworth and Westminster, the "Conservatives are neck and neck with Labour", although "it's not signed and sealed in any of those three boroughs".

The Tory peer delivered a damning assessment of both main parties, warning: "I've never known both parties so uncertain about what they are trying to achieve" in terms of election gains.

A Green Party source said that the Reform claim was "total nonsense", accusing the party of "running scared" as the Left-wing party rises in the polls.
