Punjab SSSB Vacancy 2026: The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (Punjab SSSB) has announced recruitment for the Senior Assistant position in 2026. Candidates holding a bachelor's degree are eligible to apply. The online application process will begin on March 7, 2026, and conclude on March 28, 2026. Who can apply?
Bachelor's Degree: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or institute.

Computer Course: Candidates must have completed a computer course of at least 120 hours with practical experience in the use of personal computers/IT from a government-recognized or ISO 9001 certified institute, or must have an 'O' Level Certificate from the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (formerly DOEACC).

Typing Test: Candidates must pass a computer-based typing test conducted by the Board, with a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in both English and Punjabi.

Punjabi Language: As per the Punjab Civil Services Rules, candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th) examination with Punjabi as a compulsory or optional subject, or have passed any equivalent examination in the Punjabi language.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for general category candidates in this recruitment is 37 years, while SC/ST/BC category candidates from Punjab are eligible for age relaxation, with the maximum age limit remaining at 42 years. Furthermore, the maximum age limit for state or central government employees is 45 years.

Application Fee:
The application fee for ex-servicemen, EWS, PWD, and LDESM (Punjab candidates only) is ₹500. Only candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC) in Punjab will be charged a fee of ₹750, while candidates from all other categories will have to pay ₹1,500.

How will the selection process be conducted?
Written Exam: First, candidates will have to appear for a written objective test consisting of multiple-choice questions. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in this test. Please note that negative marking will apply, with 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.

Typing Test: Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be required to take a computer-based typing test. In this test, candidates will be required to type at a speed of 30 words per minute in English and Punjabi (Unicode-compliant font Ravi). This test will be of a qualifying nature only.

Document Verification: After the written exam and typing test, candidates who qualify on the merit list will be called for document verification. All necessary certificates of the candidates will be verified at this stage.

How much will the salary be?
Candidates selected under this recruitment will be appointed to the post of Senior Assistant. The salary for this position will be paid under the Level-6 pay scale, with a starting basic salary of approximately ₹35,400 per month. Other allowances may also be available as per government regulations, which may increase the total salary.

Complete the registration by entering your email address and required information. Your email address will be your user ID.

Following this, log in with your user ID and password and click "Apply for Service."

Now, fill in your personal, educational, and other required information in the online application form.

Upload your passport-size photo, signature, and required documents.

After completing all the information, pay the application fee online.

After successful payment, click the "Submit" button to complete the application process.

Finally, take a printout of the application form for future reference.
