Before the release of Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022, Aamir Khan stated that he won’t release the movie on OTT mere eight weeks after the theatrical stint and that it will be months before the audiences will get to watch it from the comforts of their home.
However, once the movie bombed, Aamir made a U-turn and soon Laal Singh Chaddha began streaming on Netflix.
Three years later, he returned with Sitaare Zameen Par and once again expressed displeasure over the OTT release window of eight weeks from the theatrical release.
He added that the movie won’t hit any OTT and will be exclusive to the big screens.
While the film worked at the box office, Aamir Khan went ahead and released the movie on Pay-Per-View format on YouTube just six weeks after the theatrical release.
At that time, he also admitted that he lied to get the audiences to theatres and added that eventually the movie will also get an OTT release and is looking forward to the offers from the platforms.
