Adobe's new Photoshop AI assistant can edit photos with prompts

Adobe has launched its AI assistant for Photoshop, making the tool available in beta on both web and mobile apps.

The company first unveiled this innovative feature at its MAX event in October.

Now, users can leverage the power of artificial intelligence to remove objects or people from images, change colors, or adjust lighting through simple prompts.

The AI assistant can also be commanded in natural language to add effects like soft glow, crop in a specific format, enhance shadows, or change the background for a different look.

Adobe has announced that paid users of Photoshop will have unlimited access to this feature until April 9. Free users, on the other hand, will get 20 generations initially.

Along with the AI assistant, Adobe is also introducing a public beta of a new feature called AI markup. This lets users draw markers on the screen and use the AI assistant to transform those objects.

For example, you could draw a flower or mark an object for removal to modify the background.

Adobe is also bringing new image-editing tools into its Firefly media-creation tool.

Firefly is getting Generative Fill, a feature already available in Photoshop, for replacing or adding objects and modifying backgrounds.

The tool is also getting generative remove for object removal, expand for increasing image size using AI, and upscale features.

Adobe has also added a one-click tool to remove backgrounds from images.

The company revealed in February that it is allowing unlimited generations for Firefly subscribers to encourage more usage.
