CBI’s ‘surgical strike’ on itself: Own inspector arrested in bribery game, Deepak Falswal sent on 2-day remand

New Delhi: It is said that “the hands of the law are long”, but this time those long hands of the law have caught their own people. CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), the country’s largest investigating agency fighting against corruption, has taken a major action and put one of its own inspectors behind the bars on bribery charges. The arrest of Inspector Deepak Falswal posted in Delhi has created a stir in the department, because this case is like “protector becoming an eater”. What is the whole matter? According to the investigating agency, this arrest took place on 10 March 2026. The case is to hush-up of a complaint to a private person. Demand for bribe: Inspector Deepak Falswal is accused of demanding a huge amount of money in exchange for not taking action on the complaint lodged in CBI against a person. Trap and arrest: As soon as CBI got wind of the matter, its own vigilance team was activated and the inspector was caught. Search and evidence: After the arrest, raids were conducted at his residential places, From where many suspicious documents and electronic gadgets have been seized. Court’s stand: After the arrest, the accused inspector was presented in the court. Considering the seriousness of the case and the need to connect other links, the court has sent Deepak Falswal on police remand for 2 days. Some other major actions of the ‘Grand Campaign’ against corruption: At present, CBI is not lagging behind in ‘cleaning the house’ as well as in ‘big hunts’ of other departments. CBI’s message: “The fight against corruption begins at home.” By taking action against its own officer, CBI has tried to send the message that no one is above the law.
