Gundlupete (Chamarajanagar): Police arrested two men for allegedly transporting government ration rice illegally near Paramapura village in Gundlupete taluk on Saturday, March 14.
The arrested persons have been identified as Hussain (28) and Nisar Ahmed (52), both residents of Hale Naripura village in T. Narasipura taluk.
According to police, the accused were transporting ration rice in a **Mahindra Maxximo goods vehicle. Acting on specific information, a team from Terakanambi Police Station conducted a raid under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Mahesh K. M..
During the operation, police seized 1,846 kilograms of ration rice packed in 37 bags from the vehicle. The two accused were taken into custody at the spot.
A case has been registered at Terakanambi Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
