Babar Azam: 'He is mentally unfit...' Pakistani cricketer got angry at Babar, scolded a lot

Babar Azam, who was the captain of Pakistan cricket team till about one-and-a-half years ago, currently the team's biggest star and biggest batsman, seems to be losing his status. Due to the continuous failure of Babar Azam along with the Pakistani team in international cricket, especially ICC tournaments, he is the target of experts and fans. While most of the questions have been raised on his batting and ability, now a former Pakistani cricketer has crossed all limits. Former batsman Basit Ali has declared Babar Azam mentally unfit.

'Not injured, mentally unfit'

After failing miserably in T20 World Cup 2026 Babar Azam There was a demand to drop him from the team. This happened and Babar was dropped from the Pakistani team that went on Bangladesh tour. However, this is a series of ODI format, in which Babar's performance has been better and this was the reason why questions were raised on it. In such a situation, when Pakistan selector Aaqib Javed was asked about this during a press conference, he said that Babar's injury surfaced after returning from Sri Lanka, due to which he was rested from this series.

But on the other hand, former Pakistani batsman Basit Ali is not ready to accept this. Basit, who has always been in the headlines due to his controversial statements, believes that Babar was not injured but the problem was with his mentality. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Basit said, “Babar Azam is mentally unfit, not physically.” Basit Ali did not stop at this and also said that it was right not to select Babar Azam for the Bangladesh tour because he would have failed in this series also.

Babar failed in the fourth consecutive tournament

World Cup 2026 was not good for Babar Azam. He played 6 innings in this tournament and could score only 91 runs in it. His biggest score was only 46 runs. But this was not the first time that he failed in an ICC tournament like this. Before this, Babar's bat remained completely silent in the Champions Trophy 2025, before that in the T20 World Cup 2024 and even before that in the ODI World Cup 2023 and in all these tournaments the Pakistani team could not even reach the semi-finals.
