But apart from these, individual awards are also to be given and in this, star batsman Smriti Mandhana is going to receive the Best International Cricketer (Women) award for the 2024-25 season. BCCI made its official announcement a day before the awards.
Mandhana, the vice-captain and opener of the Indian women's team in all three formats, is being honored with this award for scoring the most runs in the last season. During this period, Mandhana scored 1800 runs in 36 international matches, which included 7 centuries. For this brilliant performance he will be given the Best Cricketer trophy.
This is the second consecutive time and record 5th time, when Mandhana has been chosen the Best International Cricketer of the Year. In this way, he has equaled the legendary batsman Virat Kohli. Kohli has won the Polly Umrigar Trophy for Best International Player in men's cricket the maximum number of times - 5 times. Apart from this, Mandhana will also be given a medal for scoring the most runs in women's ODI (1311 runs, 24 matches).
Apart from Mandhana, this time in men's cricket, the new captain of ODI and Test team, Shubman Gill will be given the Polly Umrigar Trophy. Gill has won this award for the second time. Apart from them, Harshit Rana will get the award for Best Debutant in Men's Cricket and Sri Charani will get the award for Best Debutant in Women's Cricket. Apart from these, Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny and Mithali Raj.
