UAE Responds to Iranian Allegations

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has firmly rejected Iran's assertions that the US utilized UAE territory to launch strikes on Kharg Island, a critical site for Iran's oil exports. Following a US military operation that President Trump claimed had 'obliterated' military installations on the island, Iran threatened to target UAE assets not affiliated with the US. Anwar Gargash, an advisor to the UAE president, dismissed Iran's accusations as part of a misguided strategy, stating that the UAE retains the right to defend itself but opts for restraint.

In a statement, Gargash emphasized that the UAE prioritizes logic and reason in its response to Iranian aggression, despite the ongoing threats. Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, accused the UAE of facilitating attacks on Kharg Island and Abu Musa Island using artillery systems, claiming these strikes originated from UAE locations, including Ras Al Khaimah and near Dubai.

Iran has called for evacuations at major ports in the UAE, openly threatening non-US assets for the first time as tensions escalate in the region. Although there were no immediate signs of attacks on Dubai's Jebel Ali port or Abu Dhabi's Khalifa port, an intercepted Iranian drone caused a fire at Fujairah port, a key oil hub.

President Trump announced via social media that the US had conducted significant bombing raids on Kharg Island, warning that further actions could target oil infrastructure if Iran interferes with maritime operations in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded by stating that any attack on its oil facilities would lead to retaliation against oil infrastructure across the region linked to American interests.
