FASTag annual pass fees are going to increase for those traveling on national highways across the country. The National Highway Authority of India has decided to increase the FASTag annual pass fee from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for the financial year 2026-27. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the new fees will be applicable from April 1, 2026. This change has been made as per the rules prescribed under the National Highway Fees (Rate Determination and Collection) Rules, 2008.
Which vehicles will it apply to?
The new fee will be applicable on those non-commercial i.e. private vehicles which have a valid FASTag. This facility is available at about 1,150 toll plazas across the country, which are located on the National Highway and National Expressway network. According to the ministry, the use of FASTag annual pass is increasing rapidly among private vehicle owners. Currently more than 56 lakh people in the country are using this facility.
One time payment for the whole year
By taking FASTag Annual Pass, vehicle owners do not need to recharge again and again. Once the fee is paid, this pass remains valid for one year or till you cross the toll plaza 200 times. This facility is available for all non-commercial vehicles, provided the vehicle has a valid FASTag.
Activation will happen like this
Activating this pass is also quite easy. Vehicle owners can pay the fee once through Rajmarg Yatra app or the official website of National Highways Authority of India. This pass gets activated on the existing FASTag of the vehicle within about two hours of payment.
The plan was started in 2025
FASTag Annual Pass scheme was started on 15 August 2025. According to the ministry, since its launch this scheme has received good response from vehicle owners. With this, people traveling on the National Highway get the option of more convenient and economical travel.
