ECI Press Conference Today : The Election Commission of India is going to hold a press conference this evening. In which the dates of assembly elections of five states West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Puducherry can be announced. Meanwhile, Congress has accused the Election Commission of getting ‘G2’ permission to announce the elections. Congress often uses the term ‘G2’ to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah; Both of them are from Gujarat.

“The Election Commission will announce the schedule for the 2026 assembly elections at 4 pm today. It will have got the green signal from the ‘G2’ as the ‘G1’ will have completed its round of inauguration, ribbon cutting, flagging off and launching of new schemes. The Election Commission’s ‘Code of Conduct’ (MCC) will come into force soon. But since 2014, this has meant ‘Modi’s election,’ Jairam Ramesh, general secretary in-charge of communications for the Congress, told XPost. “It has become a ‘propaganda code’—which will be full of defamation, abuse, intimidation, fear mongering and spreading the virus of lies.”

Let us tell you that the opposition parties have accused the Chief Election Commissioner on several occasions of helping the ruling BJP. Which also includes the process of SIR. Congress and opposition MPs have given notices in both houses of Parliament demanding a proposal to remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. This notice has been signed by 130 members of Lok Sabha and 63 members of Rajya Sabha.
