Long lines for domestic cylinders are visible outside gas agencies. The government has changed many rules related to cylinders. The price of a 14 kg domestic gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 60. Now the government has implemented 4 new rules. The government has made major changes for users with pipeline connections. In view of the gas crisis, the government has implemented the ECA on gas supply across the country. The government is claiming that there is no shortage of gas in the country, but the lines of people for cylinders are not getting shorter.

These people will not get cylinders.

Amid the gas crisis, the government has made significant changes to the rules related to piped natural gas (PNG). The government has stopped the supply of LPG cylinders to those with PNG connections. The government has issued a new notification amid the deepening gas crisis in the country. According to the new order, PNG users will neither receive new LPG connections norhavel their old cylinders refilled. The government has stated that this order has been issued under the Essential Commodities Act (ECA). This order has been implemented with immediate effect. The purpose behind this government order is to ensure a continued gas supply to those in need.

Which rules related to gas cylinders have changed?

The government has ordered PNG users to immediately return their cylinders. PNG users should deposit their cylinders at their nearest gas agency or face action.

PNG consumers will not receive cylinders.

According to the new rule, those with PNG (piped gas) connections in their homes will not receive LPG cylinders. The government has stated that having both connections is illegal. Those with PNG connections will be required to surrender their domestic LPG connections immediately.

Cylinder booking rules changed three times.

Amid the gas crisis, the government has made several changes to the rules related to LPG cylinders. The government has extended the refilling deadline from 21 days to 25 and 45 days. Gas prices have been raised. The government has implemented the ECA Act on gas cylinders. It has stopped cylinder delivery without an OTP.
