Salman Ali Agha faces ICC wrath after controversial moment

Pakistani all-rounder Salman Ali Agha is facing consequences of his moment of fury at the field.

The batter was playing against Bangladesh in the second ODI when he was dismissed in a controversial runout and had to leave the field.

The Pakistani player responded at the moment with frustration as he threw his equipment and walked back to the dug out.

As a result, he has been officially reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

ICC’s response has came for breaching its code of conduct.

As per the apex body, the 32-year-old was found to have breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel which relates to “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match.”

The player admitted the offence and accepted the penalty. Level 1 breaches carry a minimum sanction of an official reprimand, a maximum fine of 50% of a match fee, and one or two demerit points.

Salman was playing Dhaka when he was on the runner’s end and during a brief moment when he left the field, Bangladeshi bowler Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit the stumps and prompted a frustrated reaction from the batter.
