BPSSC SI Prelims Result 2026: The Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has declared the results for the Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Preliminary Examination 2026. Candidates who appeared for the examination can download the merit list by visiting the Commission's official website, bpssc.bihar.gov.in. A total of 31,876 candidates have qualified for the next stage of the selection process.

The results have been released in PDF format, containing the roll numbers of those candidates who have been selected for the subsequent stage of the recruitment process—namely, the Main Written Competitive Examination. This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 1,799 Sub-Inspector vacancies within the Home Department (Police Branch) of the Government of Bihar.

Over 7.26 Lakh Candidates Appeared for the Exam
According to the Commission, this recruitment process is being conducted under Advertisement No. 05/2025, which was issued on September 23, 2025.

A total of 1,036,702 candidates had registered for the preliminary examination. Out of these, 726,231 candidates actually appeared for the exam. The examination was conducted in two shifts on January 18 and January 21, 2026.

However, during the examination, 29,272 candidates were disqualified for various reasons. The primary reasons cited by the Commission are as follows:

Misconduct: 14 candidates
Incorrect Roll Number on OMR Sheet: 14,591 candidates
Incorrect Entry of Question Booklet Number: 9,992 candidates
Failure to Sign on OMR Sheet: 529 candidates
Failure to Write Hindi Paragraph: 1,139 candidates
Failure to Write English Paragraph: 2,851 candidates
Failure to Write Both Hindi and English Paragraphs: 156 candidates

After excluding these candidates, the answer sheets of 696,959 candidates were evaluated. Selection for the Mains Examination
In accordance with the recruitment rules, candidates up to 20 times the number of vacancies in each reservation category have been shortlisted based on the Preliminary Examination. These candidates are now eligible to appear for the Main Written Competitive Examination. Information regarding the date of the Mains Examination and the Admit Cards will be released shortly on the Commission's official website.
