Umreth Assembly Bypoll 2026: Voting on April 23, Results on May 4

The election schedule for the bypoll to the Umreth Assembly seat in Anand district has been officially announced. The seat fell vacant following the demise of former MLA Govind Parmar.
According to the Election Commission’s schedule, polling will be held on April 23, while counting of votes will take place on May 4. The notification for the election will be issued on March 30, and the last date for filing nominations is April 6. Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations until April 9, and the entire election process is expected to conclude by May 6.
As per the final electoral roll published on February 17, 2026, the Umreth constituency has a total of 2,42,836 registered voters. This includes 1,05,990 male voters and 1,00,909 female voters. Citizens who wish to make corrections to their details in the voter list can apply until March 27, 2026. The updated electoral roll will be finalized and released before polling day.
Model Code of Conduct in Force
With the announcement of the bypoll, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect across the district. Special monitoring teams have been formed at the district level to keep a close watch on political parties and candidates. These teams will monitor social media activity, election expenditure, and paid news round the clock. Authorities have been directed to take strict action against any violations.
Polling Arrangements and Grievance Redressal
To ensure smooth voting, a total of 306 polling stations will be set up in the constituency. Voting will be conducted using EVMs and VVPAT machines.
Voters can register complaints or seek assistance by contacting the district control room through the toll-free helpline number 111. The administration has stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election process.
