Water purifier brand DrinkPrime has raised ₹20 Cr (about $2.2 Mn) in its extended Series A round, along with an undisclosed debt. The round saw participation from new investors Mirabilis Investment Trust and Artha India Ventures.
According to the D2C brand’s regulatory filings, its board approved the issuance of 21,718 Series A3 CCPS at a face value of ₹10 and a premium of ₹9,195 per share through a preferential allotment.
The fresh funding round pushed the Bengaluru-based brand’s valuation to ₹340 Cr (about $36.8 Mn), a jump of about 31% from ₹260 Cr (about $28.2 Mn) in its previous round. In 2024, the startup raised $3 Mn in a round led by SIDBI Venture Capital and existing investors.
Responding to Inc42’s queries, DrinkPrime said it plans to deploy the fresh capital to strengthen its IoT and data capabilities while scaling its field service infrastructure. A portion of the funds will also be channelled into R&D and upcoming product launches.
DrinkPrime also aims to tap high-growth tier II cities and broaden its presence through offline retail channels. It also plans to integrate AI-driven processes to deliver a more seamless customer experience.
“This capital will help us accelerate our growth as we scale DrinkPrime to 20 cities and work towards serving 1 Mn households over the next three years,” said DrinkPrime COO Sanjay Sunku.
Founded in 2016 by Manas Ranjan Hota and Vijender Reddy Muthyala, DrinkPrime offers users the option to rent RO+UV water purifiers, equipped with built-in IoT technology, at a monthly fee, targeting inefficiencies in the traditional and expensive water purifier market.
The startup offers subscription-based water purification services starting at ₹349 per month, with installation and maintenance included. Its IoT-enabled purifiers are customised to meet the water purification needs of families across different localities.
DrinkPrime claims to have served over 2 Lakh households across major urban areas. Its product lineup includes DrinkPrime Copper, DrinkPrime Alkaline, DrinkPrime UTS, DrinkPrime RO+, and DrinkPrime Under the Sink.
On the financial front, its net loss declined 18.4% to ₹11.5 Cr in FY25 from ₹14.1 Cr in the previous fiscal year. Revenue jumped 54% to ₹72.1 Cr from ₹46.8 Cr in the previous fiscal year.
The startup said it is on track to cross ₹100 Cr revenue mark in FY26 and turn EBITDA positive, fuelled by its focus on customer experience to drive organic growth, new product launches, expansion into high-growth tier II markets, and offline retail distribution.
